CAITLIN DANBORN
Student Journalist
About Me
Hi! I'm Caitlin. I am a student journalist, currently studying at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. I have been involved in journalism since high school, where I spent two years as the Editor-in-Chief of The Arvada Westwind, earning both local and national recognition for my work. I am currently the Editor-in-Chief of The Maneater after working as a staff writer in the Student Politics section my freshman year.
I am studying International Journalism with a second degree in International Studies as well as a minor in Spanish.
My goal is to make international politics accessible and relevant to audiences in the United States. I believe that journalism should be focused on amplifying the voices of the people most impacted by various issues — something that is not done enough in reporting on foreign policy. I am passionate about presenting these issues in a context that makes sense to US audiences, while continuing to elevate the voices of the most vulnerable.
Aside from journalism I enjoy spending time outdoors (especially in my home state of Colorado), photography, running and reading. On campus, I am a member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and involved in Mizzou Alternative Breaks.
